Connecting those who have served in Japan.

Gallery: JUMP in Hawaii on June 4, 2019

The Japan-U.S. Military Program (JUMP) in cooperation with the Japan-America Society of Hawaii, invited over a hundred members to attend a networking reception at the Official Residence of the Consul General of Japan in Honolulu on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.

Members had the opportunity to network with 100 newly commissioned members of the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force as the Japan Training Squadron made its way across the Pacific Ocean. Speeches were given by representatives of the Japanese Consulate in Honolulu and the Japan-America Society of Hawaii with a keynote speech delivered by Rear Admiral Matthew J. Carter, Deputy Commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.

JUMP connects past and present service members, families and government civilians who have served in Japan, which provides opportunities for service members to engage with each other. The program builds relationships and a powerful foundation for sustaining the solid alliance that exists between the U.S. and Japan.

This event was also supported by the National Association of Japan-America Societies and Sasakawa USA.
