Location: Residence of Defense Attaché Rear Admiral (or RADM) Yuki Sekiguchi
On April 22, Japanese Defense Attaché Rear Admiral Yuki Sekiguchi invited a group of retired senior U.S. military officers to his home in order to commemorate the creation of the Japan-U.S. Military Program (JUMP). Guests were treated to welcome remarks and greetings by Rear Admiral Sekiguchi, Admiral Dennis Blair of Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA and Minister Masato Ohtaka of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. To celebrate the start of JUMP, attendees performed Japanese ceremony, the Kagami-Wari, in which a sake barrel is broken to symbolize the start of something new.
